About Us

St. Vincent Catholic School was established in September 1999 through the visionary passion of Rev Fr. R.M Crowley (C.M), an Iris Vincentian priest. Mrs Agnes Okoro became the school's first head teacher, and Rev Fr. Crowley handed over the role of school administrator to Rev Fr. Philemon Okoh (C.M) after his tenure as the parish priest of Christ the King Catholic Church, Akowonjo. During Rev Fr. Okoh's era, Rev Sister Francisca Okpara served as the head teacher until 2003, and then Mrs Obi took over. Rev Fr. Longinus Odum became the parish priest and school administrator when Mrs Obi left, and Mrs Madueke was employed as the new head teacher.
Mrs Madueke, being a visionary icon, saw the need to upgrade the school to a secondary level. She shared her idea with Rev Fr. Longinus Odum, who quickly consulted with the PTA chairman (Mr Johnson L. Erowe) and his executives. They gave their consent and support for the construction of a befitting 2-winged 2-storey complex to accommodate the new proposed secondary school as well as the existing nursery/primary schools. This task was accomplished within a short time.
The then Archbishop of the Metropolitan of Lagos, His Eminence Anthony Olubunmi Okojie, was invited to inaugurate the school officially. During the ceremony, the students received their first holy communion (FHC), and the pupils and students had the opportunity to take catechism and confirmation classes in preparation for a better Christian life. This aligns with the school's motto, "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom."
Over the years, there have been changes in leadership positions in the school. Rev Fr. Gregory Ndaeyo (C.M) became the school's principal, Mrs Lilian K. Egbi the deputy principal, and Mrs Uromun the head teacher, with Rev Fr. Anthony Nyong as the school administrator. Subsequently, Mrs Anthonia Ikeaka took over as head teacher and Rev Fr. Jude O. Lemeh (C.M) as the principal. In 2013, Miss Maureen Nriezedi became the head of schools.
In August 2014, Rev Fr. Simon Iduh (C.M) resumed as the spiritual head and principal of the school. Mr Ikechukwu M. Osuchukwu, Mrs Ogbole Monica, and Mrs Ayinde Patience served as vice principal administration, vice principal academics, and Dean of studies, respectively. Miss Oyebode Sarah became the head teacher for the primary section of the school during this period.
Rev Fr. Ignatius Okoligwe became the school administrator in 2016, with Rev Fr. Ezenwa Peter (C.M) and Rev Ajala Stephen James (C.M) working with him as school principals. With the transfer of Rev Fr. Ignatius Okoligwe in 2021, Rev Fr. Gregory Ndaeyo took over as the school administrator, and Rev Fr. Ekene Emelisi (C.M) resumed duty as the spiritual head and principal of the school. Mr Olaleye O. Ayobami is the current vice principal administration of the school, and Mrs Uwayah Rachael is the current headteacher of the primary school, succeeding Miss Oyebode Sarah.
St. Vincent Catholic School is committed to a WHOLISTIC philosophy of educating its students and pupils. It aims to build a generation of high moral values and positive result-oriented leaders.
